SUMMARY:Cardiff Actor's Gym
DESCRIPTION:Actor’s Gyms are a space for actors at all stages of experience to explore\, play and grow. \n\n\n\nThese workshops use published plays as a foundation to dive into new skills\, explore some text and work your acting muscle in a supportive environment. \n\n\n\nCopies of the script will be circulated with attendees 48 hours before each session. \n\n\n\nLocation: Cardiff (Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama) \n\n\n\nDirector: Jenny Davies \n\n\n\nSign-up deadline: Wednesday 4 November\, 5pm \n\n\n\nText: TBC \n\n\n\n\nSign Up\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJenny Davies is a Welsh\, Bristol-based director\, theatre-maker and audio producer originally from Abergavenny. She brings a holistic\, people-centred approach to her practice\, rooted in a belief that rehearsal rooms should be places of growth\, trust\, and playful curiosity. She plays with form and sensory experience whilst centring intersectional\, tender stories that explore the messiness of being human. \n\n\n\nJenny trained at the University of Bristol and with Bristol Old Vic\, where she was awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Arts Scholarship in 2019. She was Resident Assistant Director at Tobacco Factory Theatres 2018/19\, and is an associate of artist-led collective Interval. In 2026 she was a finalist for The JMK Award at the Young Vic. \n\n\n\nAs a director\, her work includes; Badgers (TravFest26)\, Outlier and Waldo’s Circus of Magic and Terror for Bristol Old Vic; Wendy: A Peter Pan Story for Theatre Royal Bath; and The Things We Carry for Tobacco Factory. \n\n\n\nFurther credits include staff director on Nye for the National Theatre (also Wales Millennium Centre)\, Associate Director on The Odyssey Episodes 3 & 5 for Public Acts\, and Associate Director on Death Drop at the Criterion. \n\n\n\nJenny’s audio work has garnered significant recognition: she is the recipient of a 2025 Charles Parker Audio Prize for The T-Shirt for In the Dark\, and is the director and producer of Artan & Jordan by Florence Espeut-Nickless for BBC Radio 4. \n\n\n\nShe is a passionate advocate for the transformative power of creativity\, and continues to work as a workshop leader and collaborator with artists across the UK.
