SUMMARY:Casglu with Eli Williams
DESCRIPTION:Casglu is a monthly space for professional dancers and movement practitioners to come together\, explore their craft and learn from established industry leaders. \n\n\n\nIn this contemporary movement class\, we begin with gentle improvisational scores designed to warm the body and expand physical awareness. From there\, we transition into contemporary floor work that encourages a softer\, more responsive connection to the ground. Through thoughtful\, methodical sequencing\, you’ll deepen your relationship with gravity while exploring the dynamic balance between strength and release\, effort and ease. Guided by breath\, anatomical awareness\, and an evolving sensitivity to the floor\, nurturing both groundedness and expressive freedom. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEli is a contemporary dance artist\, choreographer\, and yoga teacher based in North Wales. Eli’s freelance practice spans youth and community engagement\, performance\, movement direction\, and choreography\, working with companies such as Jones the Dance\, Theatr Clwyd\, and Fran Wen. Rooted in collaboration and somatic practice\, Eli’s work navigates themes of embodiment\, identity\, and community. Her approach to movement and facilitation is warm\, inclusive\, reflective\, and gently paced\, creating a supportive environment where participants can connect deeply with their bodies and movement. \n\n\n\n\nSign Up

SUMMARY:Text Analysis in Practice
DESCRIPTION:Most appropriate for directors\, writers and actors\, this in-person workshop will run you through the foundations of script analysis and how to explore analysing text from a dramaturgical perspective. \n\n\n\nMany artists “do” dramaturgy without realising it – analysing text to pull out key themes\, examine the inquiries presented\, and build a creative concept that helps audiences work through those questions. But what would it mean to make those dramaturgical decisions from a more informed space? \n\n\n\nLed by Director of Stiwdio Clwyd and award-winning dramaturg Suzanne Bell\, you’ll leave this workshop with some clear techniques for how to approach your next script and what questions to ask to ensure your text analysis is rigorous. \n\n\n\n\nSign Up\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSuzanne Bell has over 20 years professional experience working as a Dramaturg in new writing and artist development in theatres and supporting the development of artists across the UK and internationally. In January 2025 she joined Theatr Clwyd as Director of Stiwdio Clwyd\, a new initiative to support the development of Welsh and Wales based professional theatre-makers. She was Dramaturg at the Royal Exchange Theatre where she oversaw the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting She has led artist development programmes and workshops at the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse\, Royal Court Theatre\, Headlong\, Soho Theatre\, Live Theatre\, Gate Theatre\, Birmingham Repertory Theatre\, various universities and for companies in Brazil\, Turkey\, Canada and the USA. Suzanne was the first Literary Manager and Dramaturg to be appointed at the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse. In 2019\, she was the recipient of the Kenneth Tynan Award for Excellence in Dramaturgy. In 2020\, she was awarded the Olwen Wymark Award for Encouragement in Theatre\, awarded by the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain\, nominated by Winsome Pinnock.
